The numerical simulation of fluid flow around a fractured horizontal well, with no additional wellbore contribution, readily matches the flow regimes that have been predicted analytically. At early -time these numerical simulations demonstrate the expected elliptical flow regime around each of the individual fractures. Then at an intermediate -time they reflect the interference between the various fractures. Finally, at late -time they readily describe the elliptical flow regime around the entire fractured area, as well as the continued strong interference between the individual fractures.
