A. Using Past Tense Verbs
A verb in the simple past tense expresses an action that happened in the past at a definite time. It is used with expressions of past time such as a while ago, last week and last year. The past forms of regular verbs end with d or –ed. The past forms of irregular verbs are changed in spelling.
Examples:
Mother baked a cake last week.
She studied her lessons last night.
Jessie has prepared her favorite dish for lunch.
