Shell small (lectotype up to 14.2 mm), globular,
apex always truncated with less than three remaining whorls.
Sculptured only with growth lines. Colour dark chestnut or
olive-brown, sometimes with darker vertical fl ames. Aperture
oval, pointed above, rounded at the base, columella thick.
