4.4.4. Headaches
The workers in both CL and LPL were experiencing
different levels of headaches, especially in the plating
process. Plating is a centralized process located in a separate
building; all of the production batches from both
LPL and CL are sent to this building for plating. The
plating process is located in a closed room with more
than 15 types of chemicals. The area is congested with
pipes and container baths. Chemicals used for plating
processes are hazardous, with acids used for etching
and cleaning. Plating processes also use heavy metals
(such as lead) as coating material, which is hazardous
to workers’ health.
