Sañudo et al., 2009). In the present study, fruit treated with 1-MCP
alone showed uneven color development on the 20th day, which
affected the appearance of the fruit (Figs. 1 and 2). However, fruit
under the treatment of 1-MCP combined with ethephon showed
normal color development (without uneven color development
and with good appearance), which maintained the commercial
value of banana. The combined treatment also delayed ripening
and prolonged the shelf life of banana fruit.
