PVA-alginate gel is comprised with 9 g/L PVA and 1 g/L alginate in 100 mL distilled water and then autoclaved at 121oC for 15 min. The cell pellets in 0.85% (W/V) NaCl will be mixed with PVA-alginate gel to give an initial cells concentration of OD600 at 10. The Mixed solution will be dropped into 2% (w/v) of calcium chloride (CaCl2) using peristaltic pump. Beads of cells immobilization will be immersed in 50% (w/v) of sodium nitrate (NaNO3) and 2% (w/v) of calcium chloride (CaCl2) for 24 h. Beads of cells immobilization will be incubated in modified MRS liquid medium for 24 h at 35oC before being used in switching process. Waste water form cheese whey industry will be used to increase azo dye decolorization efficiency under switching process technique. Decolorization efficiency using lactic acid consortium operate under switching process could apply to decolorize azo dye wastewater from dyestuff industry.
