Its annual CO2 release is lower than Tokyo and New York, but higher than London and Toronto. When the amount of CO2 released per person per year is calculated, Bangkokians are among the highest. On average, a Bangkokian releases 7.3 tonnes of CO2 annually, compared to a New Yorker (7.1 tonnes), a Londoner (5.9 tonnes), and a Tokyo resident (5.7 tonnes).
