Pectin of apple pomace and citrus peel was extracted by
subcritical water and the properties of APP and CPP were significantly
affected by extraction temperature and raw material.
Further, the results of MTT and radical scavenging assay showed
that these extracted pectin had anti-oxidative activities and antitumor
activity against the HT-29. However, further investigations
are needed to explore conformational information of the extracted
APP and CPP as well as mechanism of the antioxidant and antitumor
bioactivities.
