interestinwindenergyandgovernmentsincreasedfunding
towardsresearch,developmentanddemonstrationofwindenergy
technologies [1,6]. Todatewindenergyisthefastestgrowing
source ofelectricity [7].
Although thegenerationofelectricityfromwindcanbenoisy,
it isenvironmentallyfriendlyinthesensethatthereisnoemission
of carbondioxideandothergreenhousegases.Therefore,theuse
of windenergycouldhelpinabatingglobalwarmingandmiti-
gating climatechangeandthishasbeenthemaindriverforusing
wind energyfromthe1990s [8]. However,thereislimiteduptake
of thetechnologyinmostpartsoftheworldduetolowwind
speed thatcharacterisesmanypartsoftheworld [9].
Low windspeedsresultsinlessenergyperunitvolumeofair

researchersunderstandresearcheffortsbyotherresearchersand
