Station III (Island mangrove ecosystem) consists of three different
islands of Gulf of Mannar, namely Kurusadai, Poomarchan, and
Manauli. It is located between 9°14′N 79°12′E and 9°12′N 79°7′E, along
the south east coast of India. These islands are well known for their
mangrove species composition and have lagoon pools and open mud
flats (Figure 1).
