distribution of slip vectors in the sub-faults and the lower
panel shows the spatio-temporal distribution of slip.
Our results show that the coseismic slip is localized in
two regions. The first region incorporates the hypocenter
and is labeled as Asperity 1 in Fig. 8a. Asperity 1 covers
comparatively large area where the average slip is
123.5 cm. The second asperity is located at the down-dip
tip of the northeastern corner of the fault (Asperity 2 in
Fig. 8a) where the slip is averaged to 46.5 cm. The maximum
value of slip is 338 cm and is associated with the
Asperity 1. Maximum slip in the Asperity 2 is 82 cm.
The time lag between two successive subevents during
the point source estimation is well manifested in the slip
model too, where the Asperity 2 is ruptured after 8 s of
the main rupture (lower panel in Fig. 8a). Total moment
is calculated as 9.8E + 18Nm accounting for a slightly
smaller size (Mw 6.59) as compared to the result
obtained in point source estimation.
