Transformational leadership (TL) is refreshingly
different from all previous leadership theories in a way
that it empowers or enables the followers. The leader
engages with followers in a way where both the leader
and the follower transcend to a higher level of motivation
and morality. The relationship between superior and
subordinate turns into partners in the quest of common
organizational goal, each making the requisite contribution
and in the process increases their capacity to perform
(Nicholls, 1994).
