In fact,morphology of electrospun fibers is determined by both intrinsic
(properties of fiber-forming solution) and extrinsic factors (operation
conditions) as indicated by Li and Xia (2004). In the present experiment,
electrospun nanofibers were created by charging a pendant droplet of
polymer solution at tip of spinneret. The density of net charges of the liquid
jet could be one of the key factors that affect the bead formation
(Bhardwaj & Kundu, 2010; Li & Xia, 2004; Ramakrishna et al., 2005).
The bead density could be modified via altering the net charge density
of the liquid jet. In this study, we found that electrical conductivity of
the SPI fiber-forming solutionwas significantly reduced with the addition
of ARRE extract (pb0.05) (Table 1)
