The adsorption of As(III) on shelled moringa oliefera lamarck seed powder [4], natural laterite [19] and iron chips [29] follows pseudo first-order model, while pseudo second-order model fits better for As(III) adsorption on some adsorbents viz. iron oxide coated cement [18], Fe-RH-MCH-4 [27] etc. The kinetic rate constants k1 and k2 for these adsorbents are higher showing higher adsorption rate than coconut fiber adsorbent. Higher adsorption rate on iron chips, iron oxide coated cement, Fe-RH-MCH-4 etc. may be due to presence of iron in these adsorbents. A low cost adsorbent developed from natural waste material is the advantage of coconut fiber adsorbent in spite of its lower adsorption rate.
