The subscale measuring health
responsibility indicated a slightly higher
mean score for nontraditional students
than traditional students, suggesting that
nontraditional students may pay more
attention to their own health status and
educate themselves about health; however,
the responsibilities associated with being a
nontraditional student presented challenges
to participating in general health-promoting
behaviors, a finding supported by Pawloski
and Davidson (2003).
