Both chard and beets have the same parent, the wild seabeet.
Farmers have been breeding this plant since 400 B.C, the chard for its
leaves and the beet for its roots. Chard is fairly easy to grow if you pay
attention to the details.
Best microgreen varieties include Ruby Red and Rainbow Mix. Chard
grows better in soil that on a mat, but either can be used. The green
leaves and red stems of chard provide a splash of color. Chefs love the
Rainbow Mix for a garnish.
