A specific antibody response against PHA-E lectin wasdetected in groups fed rice spiked with PHA-E lectin as well asin the control group (Fig. 1). A statistically significant increasein the PHA-E-specific IgG1 response compared to the controlgroup was found for all three concentrations of spiked PHA-Electin (males and females). A tendency to an increased PHA-Especific IgG2a response compared to the control group was seenfor all groups fed rice spiked with PHA-E lectin, although a statistically significant increase was only found in the male groupfed rice spiked with the lowest concentration of PHA-E lectin(0.005%). The PHA-E-specific IgA response was statisticallyincreased compared to the control group for all PHA-E-spikedgroups except from the female group spiked with the lowest concentration of PHA-E lectin (0.005%). Immunization with SRBChad no effect on the PHA-E-specific antibody response.
