Paul Rudolph's 1961 Milam Residence in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Arthur and Teresa Milam, the houses's original clients, still live there and nominated the property in March of 2015. The last of Rudolph's houses to be built in Florida, it was conceived after Rudolph began experimenting with sculptural concrete forms with Sarasota High School and developed more spatially complex interiors at the Deering Residence on Casey Key. Perhaps the most remarkable feature is its so-called "Brise-Soleil", a geometric concrete sun breaker protecting the large expanses of glass from glare.
