Regarding most frequent reading tasks, everyday
business-type communication (emails, memos, faxes,
letters) scored highest, with 26.9% of respondents
reporting doing such tasks daily. This was followed by a
score of 17.3% for daily reading of practical documents
such as user manuals or instructions for use. In third place
came daily reading of reports and technical documents
with a score of 14.7%, while daily reading of research
papers scored lowest with a 7.6% score.
