When a text is translated, especially from one language to another, as defined by the Jakobson’s definition of interlingual translation, ‘rewording of signs to other signs in the same language’ (Gentzler 2001: 1), the very first feature of translation which should be kept in mind is meaning. This idea was first supported by Larson and Newmark’s definitions of translation (1998 and 1996 cited in Somseen Chanawangsa B.E. 2553: 37)and also Chanawangsa (Somseen Chanawangsa B.E. 2553: 3), as follows
