Comparisons of the pain symptoms according to the VAS scores, or
the symptoms according to the FIQ scores, were examined for
statistical significance using the Wilcoxon signed-ranks test. Data
from each domain of the SF-36 were analyzed using nonparametric
tests. The ManneWhitney U test was used to compare the pretherapy
and post-therapy scores for each domain of the SF-36. The
PCS and MCS scores were obtained by summing the physical and
psychological subscale scores, respectively, and were analyzed
using the same statistical test. A p < 0.05 was considered to be
statistically significant. All analyses were performed using StatMate
III software (ATMS Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan).
