To maximize achievement, enrichment should continue outside of the class- room. Your options include summer enrichment; tutoring; after school programs; and specialized, targeted skill building during school in pullout programs. For example, you could put together an enriching after school program to help poor students who live in public housing. It could be set up as specialized tutoring that takes place outside school, close to the kids' homes. This off-campus strategy is an example of blending accommodations (e.g., by providing transportation), skill building, and enrichment. Chances are good that you'll see these types of benefits:
-improved reading, verbal, and writing skills
-better overall school performance
- stronger interest in class material
-better school attendance
-higher grades compared to a control group
