absorbing reagent using the same procedure as followed for
the trapping of environmental nitrogen dioxide and determine
the concentration of the NO2 using the DRS-FTIR procedure
described as earlier in the paper. The result obtained
by the above experiment shows a very small difference between
the theoretical and observed concentration of the NO2.
The small difference between these two values may be
possibly attributed to various factors such as the loss during
reagent handling, incompleteness of the reaction, reagent
purity and efficiency of absorbing solution. The relative
standard deviation (n= 6) for the observed NO2 level was
calculated to be in the range 1.5–2.4%. Fig. 3 shows the extent
