A total 60 primiparas women in labour were included in total of the study. Mean age was 27.12(sD 4.18; range 18-39) emographic and obstetric data for the experimental and thga. control groups were compared. There were no significant differences in the demographic obstetric characteristics of the experimental and the control groups in terms of religion socioeconomic status, prenatal education maternal age gestational age, newborn birth weight and second-stage duration(Table 1). The type and percentage of music by women choose were classical music, 20% (n 6); light music, 16.7% (n 5); popular music, 30% (n 9), crystal-children's music, 20% (n 6) and Chinese religious music, 13.3% (n 4)
The mean pretests data on vASP PBI,VASA and FT at two phases during labour and the comparison of variables in the two groups are presented in Table 2. Independent t-test of group differences of the pretests at either latent phase or activ phase was not significant. To determine whether the outcomes differed as a function of the music intervention, a one-way between-group analysis of covariance was conducted using
