The mixtures were prepared in the following proportions on a wet weight basis: 41.6% matured compost + 58.4% food waste (w/w).
After loaded into the bioreactor, the reaction chamber temperature was set to 60 C; the mixer was set to turn clockwise for 10 min and turn counterclockwise for 10 min; and the rotation speed was set to 20 rpm. Deionized water was added to maintain the moisture contents (MC) of the mixture at 61–65%.
