After the spectator the next most important person in the stadium is the player or athlete: without these people there is no game or event. Players’ and ath- letes’ needs are covered in Chapters 6 and 19, and as above the UK’s Disability Discrimination Act (and similar Acts in Australia and the USA, etc) require full provision to be made for disabled players. This latter phrase is not a contradiction in terms, as the growth of events such as the Paralympics attests.
