microporous polyethylene fibers that are woven into fabric and
wrapped around a central tube feeder that supplies the shell-side
fluid. Woven fabric allows more uniform fiber spacing which in
turn leads to higher mass transfer coefficients than those obtained
with individual fibers. The properties of a hollow fiber module are
shown in Table 1. The fiber is potted into a solvent-resistant
polyethylene tube sheet and the shell casing is polypropylene.
