DO NOT ADOPT/DO NOT FOSTER ALERT
Molly Digman of Manchester, MO
One dead dog, one dead puppy, one emaciated dog returned to rescue. Some of the facts are unclear, but what IS clear is that this is a pattern. The following are statements that I have been told by the rescues involved. I am sharing the information that was given to me so that the STL rescue community can be aware of these allegations. Molly has many connections in the rescue community, so please beware.
Incident #1
Molly was fostering a dog for a STL rescue. She claimed the dog threw up one day and died. She took the dog in a trash bag to her personal vet. The vet carried the remains to the freezer and felt nothing but bones. When they looked inside, they were horrified and contacted the rescue immediately. The dogs name was Treasure. You can see from the photo that he is BEYOND emaciated and his poor body is riddled with sores. This did NOT happen overnight. Molly got a note put on her vet file concerning the condition of this dog. She was banned from working with this rescue in any capacity.
Incident #2 Canines in Crisis Inc
Molly adopted a dane named Titus from the rescue. 6 months later the dog was returned to the rescue, emaciated and full of worms
Incident #3 Hope Rescues
Hope rescued a mom and her puppy from a neglect case in Chicago. Molly adopted the puppy, who was named Dandelion. A few months after adoption, when the puppy was about 8 months old, Molly took the pup to her vet for boarding. The vet noted that the puppy was way too thin. Upon confrontation, Molly stated that the pup "did not like to eat". Concerned, the vet performed a parvo test which was negative. In the week the dog was boarded, he gained several pounds. The vet demanded that the puppy be brought back in a few weeks for a check up. Molly missed that appt. Would not return the vets reminder calls. A month later the vet called again to reschedule appt. Molly called back this time and told them to take the puppy off her account because he had been hit by a car. Suspicious, the vet called Hope Rescue. Neither the vet, nor the rescue, believe that she was hit by a car given the pattern of neglect and abuse. The body was never recovered.
Molly removed all evidence of owning Dandelion from her FB page. All the photos have been removed and she never posted that he had died.
ALL OF THE INFO POSTED HERE CAME DIRECTLY FROM THE RESCUES INVOLVED AND HER PERSONAL VET, WHO RELEASED A STATEMENT TO HOPE RESCUE ALONG WITH THE PHOTO OF TREASURE.
I am so sorry Dandelion and Treasure, for the pain and suffering you endured. May your death not be in vain…. for we will NEVER FORGET
