phytoremediation. As a general trend, among most of the studied
species and sampling sites, the Pb concentrations were higher in the
roots than in the aerial tissues, presenting relatively low TF and BCF.
As pointed out by Blaylock and Huang (2000), roots are the principal
impediment for lead translocation from soils, that is why there are
