A recent PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP survey observed that the percentage of cyber incidents attributed to current and former service providers, consultants, and contractors increased from 16 and 13 per- cent to 18 and 15 percent, respectively, in 2014.9 Of the companies surveyed, just over 54 percent, representing diverse industries, require third parties, including outsourcing service providers, to comply with their privacy policies.10
