2.3 Multidimensional thinking
Most real-world decisions are multidimensional in nature, and the range of considerations they involve is confusingly wide. We tend to try to express problems in a simple form in order to make them intellectually manageable. This is not in itself a bad thing, but a necessary process in understanding the real world. However there is a danger that if carried too far, it becomes over-simplification. The consequence of over-simplification is that we often don’t find an appropriate solution for what is, in reality, a very complex problem.
