The animals were allocated in two groups, with ten each, one as the control and another as experimental group. Induction of ulcers in the oral mucosa was performed using the same protocol in both groups. The anesthetic procedure was performed by the veterinarian of the Center of Experimental Surgery, UFPE. Ten minutes before the onset of anesthesia, atropine sulfate was applied intramuscularly at a dose of 0.44 mg / kg. To anaesthetize the animals we used a solution of 5 mg ketamine hydrochloride® and 2 mg of xylazine and applied 0.2 ml per 100g body weight IM
