Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder which can be fatal if proper treatment is not received. Blood transfusion therapy is the mainstay of treatment, and needed for children with thalassemia to live. Diminished quality of life, uncertainties over the entire lifespan, and disruptions to the family system are the outcomes of an illness. In this regard, children with thalassemia major have good survival but little is known about their quality of life. Therefore, It is important to provide efficient educational support regarding thalassemia for the children can raise their awareness, and can help to improve their quality of life.
