the monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) were the predominating FA,being 18:1n-9 found in highest content , followed by 16:1n-7.Among the PUFA, the n-3 FA presented the highest contents, being DHA the majority FA, followed by EPA. the SFA found in higher amounts were acids 16:0 and 18:0. The FA compositions determined in this study are in accordance to the profile of FA for Atlantic hake found in the literature (Saldanha and Bragagnolo 2007,2008)
