Well, let me tell you how to fix it without needing to uninstall anything (it's not really good to leave your computers vulnerable just cause you want to play a game).
So the fix for the authentication_failure and others created by the firewall/antivirus is as simple as:
Go to Steam, right click on Dirty Bomb and click on Properties, go to Local Files tab and then select Verify integrity of game cache, once it's done, you'll see one file was corrupted. Now restart, and right after the restart, disable both Firewall and Antivirus and open the game. Once the game allows you to play, close the game and enable both Firewall and Antivirus and you won't get the issue again.
I assume the issue starts with the file (possibly from the XIGNCODE) not being able to write certain information (permission rights and stuff). I tried first without restarting and it wouldn't fix so tried after a fresh restart and worked out perfectly (I have BitDefender like many of you)
PS: For BitDefender users, if you wanna make sure it works (as i did) just disable everything (Active Virus Control and real-time, Web Protection, Intrussion Detection and Firewall) since it'll take only a few minutes. Even when only with AVC, Real-time and Firewall should be enough, it might not be.
NOTE THAT IF THIS DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM and you get the error again, you'll get it as long as you don't verify the game cache again, since the file gets "corrupted" and wont change anymore. So again verify the game cache with steam and try everything else until it gets fixed.
