In Thailand, they only manufacture jewelry while the watches are made in Switzerland and their straps in China. Thailand was chosen as the base of Pandora’s production due to the country being one of the most known exporters/manufacturers of jewelry in the world and for having one of the best craftsmanship. Their first production unit was opened up in 1989, their second facility in 2008, and their third and fourth in 2010. As of now, they are constructing one more facility. As mentioned, they have 3,600 staff in Thailand, evenly split between genders. 300 of them are managers/supervisors and 97% of them were promoted from junior level positions. Average age is 28. The turnover of staff is relatively low – 4.4%. There are 4 directors (environment & energy, finance & admin, QA, Design) as well as the VP of HR & OD and the MD (foreigner).
