Author
The crime story High Life, Low Life was written by Alan Battersby and takes place in the city centre of New York. It is about people from the upper and lower class, which means people who are from a high and a low social background. Special about the book are the two story lines that are linked at the end. The first story line is about Annie Clayton, a homeless woman living on the streets of the capital city and the other story line is about the rich widow Mrs. Whittaker who spends her remaining years in one of the luxurious Century Apartments on Park Avenue. The most important character who finally brings together the “high and low life” is private investigator Nat Marley.
