Power densities of MFC promoted by algae were high-middle
and SDR was obvious higher than previous reports (Table 1). As
we know the MFC is a device that concerts the chemical energy
of a fuel (organic substrate) into electrical energy (Roller et al.,
1984), so it means that the high power density of this paper due
to the high SDR. Other remarkable different power density of
MFC systems can be found (Table 1) because performance of
MFC was influenced by various factors such as electrode spacing,
electron acceptor, MFC structure, substrates, substrate load and
so on (Rismani et al., 2008).
