Dear Khun Matthias,
Working for BMW Group Thailand for 7 years and 3M Thailand for a month, I understand that
for any international company, there should be some kind of “Rules of Conduct” or “Company
Compliance”(whatever is called by each organization but the purpose is the same) for the
employees and everyone in that business community to follow and perform strictly.
- If someone in the company, as working for and has friends in financial institution, intentionally talks about your
personal and private information like bank account details (deposit, withdraw), your credit card history (spend
data, payment record, outstanding balance, debt), loan information (leasing contract/installment for car, loan
contract for house/condominium) or even about your personal assets or debts.
- If someone in the company, as a staff of settlement department, does not keep the customer’s information as
Confidential but intentionally looks for the customer details and tells others about the customer’s private
information like their business, company/home address, investment fund, etc. Unfortunately, that customer is
your brother or is one of your family members.
What do you feel and what will you, as a top management, do if the employee of BMW Group is doing these things?
Should we let this happen, let it go or do we have to tolerate with this kind of situation?
7 years at BMW Thailand, I have never found this kind of unpleasant situation before and never thought that there would
be in the good community like BMW Group Thailand, but it really happens now!!
My friend, Khun Thattiya Wajasithisilp - Specialist Vehicle Management of BMW SF – has been experienced this kind of
situation for more than a month. She kept tolerating with these uncomfortable feelings without saying anything, excepts
speaking with close friends (both inside and outside company). She tried to think did she do anything to that person,
so as to make that person dislike and do the above things with her EVERY day and THROUGHOUT the day. Some colleagues
have heard about what that person talked about but as they did not mention her name clearly, there was no evidence
to prove that she was threaten and put in harassment situation. Does she, as a BMW employee, has the rights to be protected
from such harassment? It is assumed that it is the management’s responsibility to set their own employees free from
any harassment inside the company.
It is really terrible that SOMEONE in my example above is NOT only one person, they have done as a group of 6 persons!!:

I, as a close friend of Khun Thattiya, unfortunately have been a victim from this group also!!
They also checked, got and talked about my personal information in workplace.
Whenever they talked about us (but no name is mentioned), SF staffs in that area should hear that!
No one knew it’s our private information, excepts Khun Thattiya who knew it’s her private matters, or it’s my matters.
Her brother, who is a customer of BMW SF, is Khun Nathasit Wajasittisilp, contract no. 70803.
(I think he has the rights to complain you and company if he knows that someone in BMW SF reveals his personal information.
We don’t really know WHY they have done these things with us! And we don’t know how they get our personal info/details
(but we could guess how).
We never had any personal problem with them before. And especially for me, I never knew some of these staffs in person before.
We tried to keep patient but the more we tolerate, the more they keep chatting about our personal information in workplace.
After letting ourselves in such situation for more than a month, we feel that it’s time for us to protect ourselves.
This is not a kind of chit-chat things, it should be treated as critical and should be considered legally against Thai laws, if the case still happens.
We have been threatened and our personal data and privacy have been violated by one group.
Khun Thattiya decided to get some suggestion from her managers and from some management, or even discussed with HR manager.
We are not sure if they are called by HR to investigate about this. We do hope they will stop doing that but oppositely, they spoke loudly
today that they hate us and would do something with us. You see, these stupid things are turning to be more seriously!
We have been in discussion with our friends, who are polices, DSI officers, a vice president of Bangkok Bank, in order to take some action
with this group. We plan to report this to the police on this SAT on every charges that I could search from Thai laws. Then, we will use the
police report to complain with the banks, in order to let them verify WHO have been monitoring our deposit accounts and credit cards
and informing this group every day. We do believe they asked their friends in each bank to provide them such details.
I am not asking you to believe us. If you think this is important matter to your ex-employee like me or to your current employee like Khun
Thattiya or if you think this kind of behavior is against company compliance, please take some necessary action. Some investigation should be
carried out.
We hope to get your kind understanding and, if possible, look forward to your investigation on this matter urgently.
We really feel uncomfortable and feel like we are in harmful situation from this group. Have no idea what they will do next!
