This study was the first study of Cancer Related Fatigue in relation to
Merleau–Ponty’s embodiment and Gadow’s elaboration of
the self–body relation. The findings of this study gave partial
support to Gadow’s conceptualization of the self–body
relationship. The phase prior to Cancer Related Fatigue was associated with
self–body integration (the lived body), while the onset of
Cancer Related Fatigue was associated with an opposition of body and self (the
object body)
