Nectarine
Nectarines are a type of peach with a thin smooth skin and firm flesh. The skin of a peach is more furry but the fruit tastes almost exactly the same. You have to be very gentle with them - they can bruise, just like you do, and the fruit will go bad where the bruise is.
Tutti-frutti sundae
Ingredients
Any fruits would taste great in this sundae so choose your favourites! We've listed the fruits that we think work best.
To make 2 tutti-frutti sundaes you need:
1 orange
2 kiwi fruits
1 banana
1 apple
1 handful of strawberries
2 nectarines
1 handful of blueberries
1 handful of seedless grapes
2 tablespoons of pine nuts (optional)
2 tablespoons of dessicated coconut (optional)
2 tablespoons of low-fat vanilla yoghurt
4 mint leaves
Remember to wash the fruits before you prepare and eat them.
Equipment
Ask an adult to help you find and use these kitchen tools:
chopping board
chopping knife
large bowl
2 sundae glasses (or bowls)
2 spoons
some cocktail decorations (optional)
Remember to wash your hands before you begin.
Step 1
Prepare all the fruit on a chopping board.
Add it to your bowl as you go along.
Make sure you ask an adult to help you use the knife.
Step 2
Use a spoon to mix up all the fruit.

Add the pine nuts and stir them in well.
Be careful! Only use pine nuts if you know you are not allergic to them.
Step 4
Add most of the coconut and stir well to mix it in.
Be careful! Only use the coconut if you know you are not allergic to it.
Step 5
Spoon the fruit into your sundae glasses or your bowls.
Step 6
Now spoon a large tablespoon of yoghurt on top of the fruit mixture in each glass or bowl.
Step 7
Sprinkle the rest of the coconut on top.
Then add two mint leaves to each glass or bowl.
Step 8
If you have any, add some decorations like shiny paper windmills, umbrellas and stirrers.
