pregnancy, 5.0 vs 2.3%, 95% CI (1.03-5.09). Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and hypoglycemic remained as the main complication among babies of women with diabetes (Table 3). Babies of diabetic women on insulin had higher number of macrosomia, need for NICU admission with Apgar score less than 7 in 1 min, RDS and hypoglycaemia as compared to those on diet control (Table 4). Higher HbA1c was associated with higher rate of caesarean section, increased NICU admission, higher incidence of macrosomia and RDS (Table 5).
