To create a direct print on aluminum foil:
1. Prepare your digital image by setting it to be ½" to
1" larger than your paper.
2. Place your synthetic paper on your work surface,
and use a foam brush to apply a smooth,
even coating of the acrylic emulsion. Let it dry
and then apply a second coating in the opposite
direction. Since the synthetic paper doesn’t
absorb moisture, it will stay flat in the printer
(Figure 19.9).
3. The acrylic emulsion remains tacky when it’s dry
(after about 30 to 60 minutes) forming a pressure
sensitive adhesive. Once it’s in this state, you can
start laying the washed foil on the surface. In Figure
19.10, I’m only covering part of the surface,
but you can cover it all if you’d like
