Our results suggest that screen time is associated with dietary quality HEI-C and vegetable & fruit consumption and the association of screen time and extra energy intake is stronger among the overweight children. Among heavier children, the difference in energy intake fromlow (b2 h) to high (≥2 h) screen time groups was 136 kcal, and this extra energy came predominantly from lower nutrition dense foods (with less fiber content and less vegetables & fruit).
