II. PROBLEM STATEMENT
As mentioned before, there are so many applications for image processing. Some of them are general
and multi- purpose, while the others are specified (for medical, geographical, biological and so
many other applications). By defining this mechanism, there would be a general- purpose system,
which can be specialized based on the functions and libraries that users can have on their
computers. The system contains some functions with general use. There would be the possibility to
add new libraries and functions to the system by system administrators at any time. As a result,
the system can be used for any type of application, such as medical issues or any field related to
image and its processing. At this time, users have to specify the system's application by using
their own set of functions. In other words, this system may exist on the web, and different groups
of users may use it as a website for their own business or application. A hospital and its staff
can use this system for their purposes, while a graphic design company might use it in another way.
Also this general framework must be capable of accepting requests from different sets of users, and
then executing them in order. In general, having a multi user client-server base system for
loading, manipulating, saving and retrieving images with scalability for new filters and function
with focus on medical images is what that is addressed in this
paper.
