4.4. The hybrid system configuration
The stand-alone hybrid power generation system consists of PV
panels, wind turbine, biogas/diesel engine and battery storage. A
schematic of the system configuration is shown in Fig. 5 PV panels,
wind turbine and battery bank are connected to a DC-Bus and the
diesel/gas engine generator set is connected to an AC-Bus. These
two buses are connected to each other using a bi-directional
inverter. Load demand can be AC or DC, however, in the model
presented in this paper, the load is assumed to be AC.
