It can be concluded that the addition of CNF improved themechanical and physical properties of corn fiberboard, althoughhad a higher density when compared with non-reinforced fiber-board or the commercial HDF. The flexural strength increasedlinearly with increasing amount of CNF. An addition of only 0.5 wt%of eucalyptus cellulose nanofibers gave already higher strengththan that of the commercial boards (76% of increase in MOR).Non-wood fiberboards reinforced with CNF are good alternativeto the commercial HDF, normally produced with synthetic resinsand wood fibers.
