New Work and Holiday arrangement with Uruguay in effect – April 2013
The Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa arrangement between Australia and Uruguay commenced on 1 April 2013. Under this versatile cultural enrichment program, university-educated Australians and Uruguayans, aged between 18 and 30, can now enjoy an extended holiday in each other’s countries, during which they can also engage in short-term work and study.

New Work and Holiday arrangement with Argentina in effect – February 2012
The Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) visa arrangement between Australia and Argentina has come into effect. This arrangement allows university-educated Australians and Argentines aged between 18 and 30 to work and holiday in each other's country for up to 12 months.
The new Work and Holiday arrangement aims to strengthen cultural exchange and widen economic ties and links between the two countries.

SkillSelect – January 2012
SkillSelect is an online system that enables skilled workers interested in migrating to Australia to record their details to be considered for a skilled visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI). People intending to migrate to Australia may be found and nominated for skilled visas by Australian employers or state and territory governments, or they may be invited by the Australian Government to lodge a visa application.
