A second potential limitation of the metaphor stems from the danger
that in asserting an equivalence between domination and organization we
may blind ourselves to the idea that nondominating forms of organization
may be possible. With this in mind, it is sometimes argued that the real
thrust of the domination metaphor should be to critique the values that
underly different modes of organization, and highlight the differences
between exploitive and nonexploitive forms, rather than to engage in
critique in a broader sense
