The temple grounds are quite extensive and there are many features to be appreciated. Buddhists will usually make an offering at a Wat, and this will normally consist of a candle, some flowers (Often lotus), a small square of gold leaf, and three incense sticks to represent the Buddha, his teachings and the monastic order. I also understand that a financial offering is rarely refused. The gold leaf is used to decorate one of the craven images at the wat in an act of idolatry. Several figures have benefitted from this treatment at Wat Neranchararam.
